By coming together, they can have their voices heard and influence positive change.

Since the successful Customer Voices Conference in September 2025, the TPCG has seen an increase in interest from tenants and other customers in getting involved in housing matters. The group is delighted to report that so far six new people have joined existing members at various meetings, with more people scheduled to attend in future.

One new member of the Customer Scrutiny Group, Jim, shared how he felt when meeting the group.

He said: “I wasn’t sure what to expect, but everyone is very welcoming. They are all very knowledgeable, and it’s great to learn from people who have been involved for so long.”

Jim explained that hearing Jean, a TPCG member, speak at the Customer Voices Conference inspired him to get involved.

Longstanding members of the TPCG have highlighted how important it is to attract new members, share knowledge and continue the good work carried out in partnership with the council.

Another new member, Jim M, who attended a Customer Publicity Group meeting, said, “I thought the meeting was very interesting and really helped me understand the important work that is carried out by tenant representatives throughout the year.”

There are many personal benefits to getting involved: confidence building, developing new skills and gaining a better understanding of housing services and how decisions are made. TPCG members are keen to encourage people from all walks of life to get involved.

New voices bring fresh ideas, different experiences and renewed energy. By getting involved, tenants and other customers don’t just contribute to positive change, they become part of it!
